Connecting your Agenda to your PC

If you are having trouble connecting your agenda to your Linux PC (Software for Windows is still under development) then read this. In order to connect your agenda to your pc you need a serial port. Follow the instructions below for connecting your Agenda VR3 to the serial port.

Requirments:

Serial Port

Linux PC

Agenda VR3

Agenda Cradel

and/or

Agenda Cable

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instructions:

1. Turn off your linux computer.

2. Connect the Agenda VR3 cradel ( or cable) to the serial port.

3. Place your Agenda VR3 inside the cradel and turn it on.

4. Turn on your linux pc.

5. Goto a shell and type in:

/usr/pppd /dev/ttyS0 10.1.1.1:10.1.1.2 noauth nodetach debug 115200 local &

Thanks to bozyo for the command line

Where it says /dev/ttyS0 it could be /dev/ttyS1 if you have your cradel plugged in the second serial port, S0 = First Serial Port, S1 = Second Serial port.

10.1.1.1 is going to be the Linux PC's IP on the serial connection, 10.1.1.2 will be agenda's IPon the serial connection but you may change these around.

6. Then goto the Agenda open the VR3 Menu and select System, Network. Then Select Direct Serial and push start (Do not fill out the edit settings, just push start).

If it says (on the VR3):

IP 10.1.1.2

at the bottom, then you have connected your VR3 to your linux computer.
